During season 1, we did a 2 part episode that we called “because we’re all about that bias” (part 1 and part 2 here) where we talked about our biases in the groups we love. We thought it’d be fun to come back a year plus later and give you guys a little update on where we are right now.

The truth is that the Kathy and Laura from today are very different from Feb 2022 Kathy and Laura…

You might think “but it’s only been one year guys! How can you be so different?”

Well guess what? A baby goes from sleeping and crying to walking, eating, and speaking in a year so it is indeed long enough for entire evolutions to happen! 

For the majority of the groups we talked about last year – BTS, Stray Kids, Monsta X, GOT7 and SHINee – nothing changed since our first episodes, so our update here was short. However, Ateez did see a big change for both of us:

• Kathy: when we first came across Ateez, Seonghwa caught my attention from the very second he said “I’m the one in my (z)one.” Meanwhile, Laura fell for Mingi who was on hiatus at the time, so I couldn’t understand how she managed to ignore the guy that fit all her usual stereotypes (leader, last name Kim, bully – in a cute way – vibes), aka, Hongjoong. I made it my mission to send her Hongjoong content endlessly because I didn’t see her even appreciating him enough and somewhere in that process, I became enthralled with Hongjoong and realized he was my actual #1. I refuse to let go of Seonghwa though. So they’re both in charge of my pirate heart.
• Laura: Mingi remains king supreme (and I totally saw how Kathy was falling for Hongjoong before even she did), but I have inducted a wrecker into my heart, and that is Yeosang. From the moment I saw how he was the nicest most polite human ever even while on sedatives during Wanteez episode 10, I started to feel drawn to him. Add to that the fact that I found a photocard of him with a strawberry, plus all the promotions that showed off his birthmark, and the contrast between his beautiful face and his strong body… it was over for me. Welcome wrecker.

With the update on last year out of the way, it’s time to share all the changes and additions since. Aside from the main groups, we also mentioned some of our smaller groups (not necessarily smaller in the public’s eye but just in our eye in 2022) and this is where the biggest update for both of us is at! 

Seventeen

Kathy:

• When we first dropped this episode I was nowhere near Caratland like I was still passing toll booths somewhere in the middle of nowhere. A year in, I’m now a completely normal and settled Carat with half the group as part of my bias line AND WHAT ABOUT IT. No one look at DK or Seungkwan they’re mine. I bought their earrings and everyone knows jewelry makes it official. SCoups. The8. Hoshi. Wonwoo. 

Laura: 

• STILL love Woozi but more now. Added to Ult line. I do have a bias line and it includes 10 out of the 13 members. It is what it is. Woozi, Hoshi, the8, jeonghan, Mingyu, Dino, S. Coups, Wonwoo, DK, Seungkwan. They’re PErFEcT. PERIOD.  
• Overall though nobody is allowed to talk shit about any Seventeen member, even the 3 outside of my bias line. Think Vernon is overrated? No you don’t. I just don’t ride as hard for those outside of my bias line. 

EXO

Kathy:

• The EXO anni was literally just a couple of months ago and we posted a template to our Instagram stories with prompts like who is your bias and who’s your wrecker and I was all “no one has wrecked me I’m a Kai girl through and through” and then Suho said mayyyyyyy I offer my services and so I was wrong and I officially now have a wrecker in EXO. 

Laura: 

• I love Baekhyun. But now I also love a lot of the other members. I want to mention Xiumin. Because I just do. I like him. DO NOT ASK ME WHY.  

WINNER

Kathy:

• I have never been less loyal in my life.
• I gave ONE look at Mino and I knew he was the one.
• Until I consumed Hoony content and his sense of humor won me over.
• And then Yoon came at me and gave me everything I ever needed with his talent, underdog story of suffering, ANGELIC BREATHTAKING VOCALS, and that genius songwriting. 
• Jinu can drink a lot and so I’m there for him too but he’s just not in my bias line of ¾ members. 

Laura: 

• I love MINO. I love his music, honestly. It’s just good. He did a video with his friend Hyunah from Urban Zakapa, where he spoke about how he felt in that particular time and he drew a picture to show it visually (he’s an artists yall no but legit he’s a painter) and he drew a spikey blob coming out of a circle. It was so sad but also so beautiful the way he described his feelings. ANYWAY, Go watch it. 

NCT

Kathy:

• Loyalty? Don’t know her. Mark. Johnny. Yuta. Haechan. 127 and Dream technicalities. Laura doesn’t let me go a day without looking at Taeyong or Doyoung. I obviously look at Jaehyun.  

Laura: 

• Taeyong taeyong taeyong. I am riding a taeyong high right now. Go watch all his solo videos for his first mini album. He’s so cute and talented and I LOVE HIM. Also, Ryan said his outfit was cool one time so that makes him EVEN COOLER. 
• I have also discovered Doyoung and HE’S ALSO PERFECT. I don’t know much about him yet but Taeyong is obsessed with him so I know I’m going in the right direction. 
• MARK IS OURS AND THE WORLDS. THAT’S THAT. 
• Ten and Jaemin 

TWICE

Kathy:

• Crying at concerts is my passion. 
• Jihyo and Hwasa are my mothers.

Laura: 

• I’m flirting with Jeongyeon and Kathy says I’ll love Dahyun so I trust her. We will see. 

Le Sserafim

Kathy:

• I saw them debut and immediately loved Yunjin but I was like let me not just go for the American girl and give everyone else a chance. And then I just fell for Chaewon through the Garam controversy for how she handled herself and the group. And then Eunchae is my daughter so. Full house at the fimmies village! 

Laura: 

• Jennifer aka Yunjin is such a talented person. I hate loving the most popular member but what can I do when they are so talented. I probably wont have many of her photocards cause she expensive. 

P1Harmony

Kathy:

• Keeho is still my little brother love him. Intak is IT and Theo came for me with his black hair this last comeback. 

Laura: 

• Soul is my son. I drove 1 hour to a cupsleeve so i could have the one he design for their latest comeback. I DIDN’T KNOW MY LOVE WAS LIKE THAT.

Kathy:

• My six children that I also gave birth to and have been rooting for so hard. Junhyeok has been my little bias from day 1 like I root for all of them but I just have a soft spot for him and seeing him having to go on hiatus twice for anxiety has broken me in ways I didn’t know possible. I really hope Psy and PNation are doing everything they can to help him navigate these tough times. 

BOYNEXTDOOR

• Laura: Love all their songs and the title ending in “I’ll get along with your dad for you” ENDED ME.

Finally, as we love each other our biases also love each other. Its crazy its weird but ITS CANON. WE DONT MAKE THE RULES.
