Daebak K-Pop Rumba Bus by MIA2K Podcast

FAQ

Why is MIA2K organizing this event?

  • Ever since we hosted our first Daebak K-Pop Meetup back in September, everyone in attendance has been asking for a round two. You asked, we delivered!

What is the plan this time?

  • This was actually the first idea we had for an event: a K-Pop Chiva. What’s a chiva you ask? It’s a traditional Colombian party bus (and probably where the party bus people got the idea to do it in the US). We’ll be calling it a “Rumba Bus” officially so that everyone can understand what it is at a glance.
  • Please note: the age limit for this event is 21+ since we will be providing alcoholic drinks to all attendees.

Why a Chiva/Rumba Bus?

  • Kathy and Laura talk at LENGTH about being Latin K-Pop fans, and finding that intersection between their Colombian/Latin American background and South Korean culture is their passion. And well, Miami is the perfect place to do this! Chivas/Rumba buses have become a staple of Miami nightlife in the recent years, and we thought it would be amazing to put a K-Pop party on wheels, Colombian style 😎

What’s the price for the event and what does it include?

  • The ticket price is $35 and it includes the admission to the party bus we’re renting, as well as drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic), and an activity we’ll do to get to know each other a little better before we party together! We need to pay for the bus in advance, so payment is required at the time that you register for the event. If you cancel within the 7 days leading to the event, we won’t be able to refund the fee as we will have paid for your space already.

What’s your experience planning events?

  • Kathy went to school for Hospitality & Tourism Management and graduated with a specialization in Event Management, and planned weddings and social events for years until a different opportunity came along to explore her true passion, which is writing. But event planning is like riding a bike: you never forget!
  • Laura is a construction scheduler, so her literal day to day job is planning, planning, and more planning. She also really enjoys coordinating activities/trips, and Excel sheets are her jam. Fun fact: she was one of the many brides who had a wedding scheduled during the pandemic, and due to venue restrictions she had to pivot and basically plan a completely new wedding from scratch. That experience alone made her a connoisseur of the South Florida events circle.
